I will share last two surveys 2022 and 2023 and she is currently insured at $125,000, which is what I paid.
There is a twin bunk V berth cabin with head and in the bow and a large twin bunk with head and shower in the aft. Kona has a central solon with galley and helm. There is of course a fly helm up top.
Kona was one of 148 tri-cabins build by Tollycraft in Washington state during the late 1970s for Salish Sea. Boatmen in south Puget Sound use to say, “You can shoot cannon balls at that one,” when they talked about the Monk* designed fibreglass hull, which boat builder Robert Tollefson overbuilt for a mostly dark-water sea filled with deadheads and strong tidal passages.
She is largely original inside and out. Kona was originally gas powered and refit with her Cummins 5.9s in 1989. They have 2,600 hours on them. Kona spent most of her life registered in Washington state before being imported in 2018.
One way to put this is that Kona has only had four owners and I have the original owners manual with years of the records kept. She runs great and comes with moorage prepaid through April 30, 2027.
I have had Kona since May 12, of 2023. Kona’s price is simply to move her on as fast as possible as I have had a couple of massive life events that leave me without good health and 10 hours away from the coast and I don’t really need the money. Heck, I might even just give her to the right person. What I am after is a proper home for this fantastic example of a late mid century motor yacht. It is also true that I need to rid my life of the obligation to look after Kona.
